Can I drop off household wastes such as oil based paints, cleaning chemicals, pesticides, etc. at your office?

For household waste streams, we recommend you check with your local county as most in the Denver metro area have programs for residents to safely drop off wastes for proper disposal, at little to no cost. We do not accept residential waste drop offs at our office. Additionally, you can find household waste disposal locations here.

Where are hazardous materials in my commercial / industrial building or school?

Older thermostats, temperature control devises, and thermometers can contain mercury. Fluorescent light tubes and halide bulbs can also contain mercury and the associated ballasts can contain Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB). Paints, oils, stains, batteries and materials typically used in science classes are all items that should be properly disposed of by Colorado Hazard Control. These items if not disposed of properly can either cause local contamination through breakages or leach into the ground water once in the landfill.

Soil, is also a source of hazardous materials including asbestos, mercury, lead and fuel.

What is the process of getting our chemicals we no longer need, collected for disposal, from our school or business?

Please give us a call or send an email, your project will be matched with a Project Manager in your area who will schedule a site visit to create an inventory of the chemicals and identify the unknown materials, if any. Once this is completed, you will receive a proposal for the hazardous waste management and disposal. Upon your approval and the scheduling of the work, the materials will be characterized, categorized and packaged for safe transportation to the disposal site. When we leave your facility, the material storage areas will be left clean and organized! We complete all waste manifesting and labeling on your behalf and provide you with a record of compliant handling and disposal approximately 45 days after the waste is picked up from the facility.
