Furniture Row, Denver, Colorado Scope of work: Colorado Hazard Control was contacted to perform the emergency cleanup of approximately 500 square feet of asbestos containing transite materials. The materials were located in the kick panels of the storefront, laminated between other materials and was discovered during demolition of the Old Denver Mattress Building in Denver. The hazardous materials were picked up and disposed of using wet methods, PPE, HEPA Vacuum cleaners, and the disposal as asbestos containing materials. Cleanup was complete within 48 hours of Colorado Hazard Control receiving the call to action. Logan Street Gas Station, Englewood, Colorado Scope of work: The removal of approximately 1,200 square feet of asbestos containing ceiling and wall texture, 11 steel casement windows with non-friable asbestos containing glazing materials, and two small electrical power panels with assumed non-friable asbestos containing interior components. All of this work was performed in the front sales office, garage, and exterior East and North sides. The asbestos containing ceiling and wall texture were removed in preparation of expected demolition activities at this structure. Colorado Hazard Control was able to employ the use of multiple engineering controls; limited containment for the window's glazing materials and full containment for the ceiling and wall texture. CHC was flexible allowing maximize safety and minimizing costs. Denver Area High School, Colorado Scope of work: Colorado Hazard Control was contracted to remove and dispose all pigeon droppings evident on the main entrance ledges, on exhaust / intake louvers on 3 of the 9 HVAC units, and on exterior decorative beams. The project also included the installation of roosting guards in various locations on the roof to hinder future problems. University Station Lofts, Denver, Colorado Scope of work: Prior to demolition, Colorado Hazard Control was contracted to perform the removal and disposal of approximately 22,780 square feet of asbestos containing materials from 4 residences and 1 apartment. Work teams were only allowed 14 days to complete scope, crews worked overtime and weekends to meet the strict timeline. The job also included a last minute scope modification requiring the removal of 2,856 square feet of asbestos containing transite roofing materials from one structure. The large scope of work and the short timeline necessitated a large work crew and extensive project coordination. Timeline, including scope modification, was followed completely allowing for proper clearances. Completion of this project without any trouble is evidence that there is no job too large for Colorado Hazard Control and proves why they are known as "Abatement Specialists." Chippewa Drive, Boulder, Colorado Scope of work: Colorado Hazard Control was contracted to remove and clean approximately 315 square feet of microbial infected subfloor. The job necessitated the establishment of a HEPA equipped negative pressure work area and entailed the removal of mold via abrasive sanding. Additionally, full decontamination of the space was completed through the application of Shock Wave disinfectant. In order to prevent future mold growth, Colorado Hazard Control followed through with the installation of a 10 mil polyethylene barrier over the surface of the crawl space. Molding tape was used to connect the barrier to the foundation wall. Laurel Street, Broomfield, Colorado Scope of work: Colorado Hazard Control was contracted to remove and clean approximately 200 square feet of asbestos containing drywall texture / joint compound and mold contaminated drywall from the closet. The material removal required a full containment set-up. The work included the removal of shelving units, drywall / ceiling materials, wall insulation, and the cleaning of interior wall cavities. Additionally CHC performed the cleaning of the HVAC system to improve the overall indoor air quality. |
