Colorado Hazard Control is a certified training provider. The EPA has mandated that all training be completed prior to the rule taking effect in April 2010, so beat the rush and get trained today!

The RRP program is designed for any individual / company that is working in pre-1978, child-occupied buildings, schools, homes, and other related structures. The lead safe work practice class curriculum is sponsored by the EPA and HUD. All RRP training certificates are valid for 5 years.

Firms must have one or more “Certified Renovators” assigned to jobs where lead-based paint is disturbed. To become certified, a renovator must successfully complete an EPA or State-approved training course conducted by an EPA or State-accredited training provider.

Recently the EPA issued a
rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisioning. Under this rule, beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
